Hey there!

I'm booking an east coast tour for my band Ben Seretan w/ The Early. We're looking to play in the Amherst/NoHo area on June 15th or 16th w/ Peels (Brooklyn), and Jordan Knecht (NoHo). We've had a ton of trouble finding a venue (Flywheel has said "no" and others have had no response). We're down to play in almost any sort of space - venue, house show, art gallery. We'd love to share a bill with more local bands.

Here are Soundcloud links to two tracks from our forthcoming record: http://soundcloud.com/the-early

Any recommendations for bands/people/venues to get in contact with would be so helpful. Really appreciate any help!

best,
Alex

More info about our project: Ben Seretan w/ The Early (benseretan.bandcamp.com and theearly.bandcamp.com) is a collaboration between a Brooklyn based songwriter and a Portland, Oregon based experimental rock band. In November 2011, we got together in Portland to compose and record songs together We're now readying a full-length album for release in June and touring in support. Here's a short video we made about our project: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K5NjCuRmUHY

OLD GHOSTS caskets LP Pre Order up Now!!!
"Caskets" is the debut LP from OLD GHOSTS, a hardcore band from Buffalo, NY containing 3 former members of DEAD HEARTS- and it shows; with passionately screamed vocals, hard breakdowns and sublime melodies, “Caskets” covers a lot of ground in its 22 minute play time. If you've liked DEAD HEARTS "Bitter Verses" LP, the territory will be familiar however; OLD GHOSTS isn't just more of the same, with a sound that is darker and harder and with lyrics that range from the deeply personal to questioning the concepts of god and faith. "Caskets" is an LP that is larger than the sum of its parts; creating an almost palpable aura of rage and despair and pulling the listener in with dark and haunting soundscapes. In short, “Caskets” is shitbirdly powerful and well-played modern hardcore that picks up where Dead Hearts have left off. This is a split release between Assault Rec (Europe) and STATE OF MIND RECORDINGS (USA)
Each has a exclusive pre order color.
2 lucky winners will win a test press copy from STATE OF MIND and 2 from Assault Records

Hi all,

Australian electro-glam duo, now residing in NYC, WAZU are planning a 1-month tour. Their most recent EP was produced by the legendary Kevin McMahon (Swans, The Walkmen, Titus Andronicus, Real Estate) and they’ve received a pretty huge buzz. Altsounds has made mention of “the gloomy, yet sexy atmosphere their sound evokes” and Some Kind of Awesome has called their music “dark, gritty, and stupidly catchy.”

Would anybody on here be interested in hosting them on August 3?

EPK available here: http://www.punksandcriminals.com/wazu
I play in a punk/indie band called Dérive. We just posted our new demo here: http://derive.bandcamp.com/album/fractures
I'd really love to get some feedback/thoughts/constructive criticism on it.
Also wondering if anyone is interested in some show trades, or shows in general. We're looking to play as much as possible. we'll play for free. we have free art/essay/poetry zines that we distribute at shows. I'm booking monthly shows for lots of bands over in Northampton, so I can also help anyone out who needs it.
GRETSCH CATALINA CLUB MINI-MOD 4pc DRUM SET
$460 + Four piece kit: 20" x 20" kick, 8" x 12" tom, 2" x 14" floor tom, 6" x 13" snare. Shells only (though I may have some hardware and cymbals I could be convinced to sell with the kit if there is an interest). Impressive volume on these for a smaller kit. I don't play very hard, but I used the kit in some very loud bands, and it always cut through in a live setting.
1960s KUSTOM 200 BASS HEAD
$150 + Black model 200 "tuck-and-roll" style amp. This guy has a nice 60s, old-school-SS sound to it. I used it in a guitar stack in a former band and was happy with it, but I'd say sounds even better as a bass amp. (The "bright" setting is also very useful when using the head for guitar.)
1984 KORG DW-6000 SYNTH
$175 + Digital/analog hybrid synthesizer. Good pads. I really like the varied spacey/dark/gothic sounds it can produce. Good for doing a thick, almost murky, early-80s-sci-fi-soundtrack thing. A very different set of sound capabilities than the early analog and modern digital eras it straddles. You can get a lot more out of the presets than with most analog synths I've used, but you can really make it shine when editing the patches.
ACOUSTIC 301 1X18" PORTED SPEAKER CABINET
$320 + Model 301 bass cab by Acoustic Control Corp. Late 60s. One 18" rear-facing speaker (also known as a "W" cab or folded horn). SUPER POWERFUL, especially at long distances due to the folded design. A vintage heavyweight classic with the original speaker, which still sounds great.
